Stand up for Super Campaign launched online today

The union movements Stand up for Super campaign to increase the Superannuation Guarantee to 12% was launched online today.

Why 9% super will not be enough!

Australian workers deserve a comfortable retirement but the current 9% contribution rate won't get us there.

Having enough superannuation could mean the difference between living a modest life after retirement -- where you watch every cent and may go without -- or living a comfortable life, where you can afford a little more for you and your family.

It's a good thing that the Labor Government aims to pass legislation that increases the national Superannuation Guarantee from 9% to 12% and make other improvements to super. But for the legislation to pass through parliament, not only Labor MPs must support the changes. Here is our chance to tell ALL politicians that working Australians deserve a comfortable future.

The new website features an online petition for workers to sign and show support for an increase in super and ask the Government to pass legislation to this end. The website also features an online calculator so workers can see how much more in retirement income they would have with a 12% SG.
