Important message regarding the HSU Victoria #1 Branch

An Application has been filed by the Health Services Union (HSU) in the Federal Court of Australia pursuant to Section 323 of Schedule 1 of the Workplace Relations Act 1996. The Court file number is VID 378 of 2009.

Notice to members

The Application seeks the following:

1. A declaration that the Victoria No. 1 Branch of the HSU has ceased to function effectively and there are no effective means under the rules of the HSU or the Victoria No. 1 Branch by which it can function effectively.

2. An order that the Court approve a scheme for the taking of action by the National Executive of the HSU to enable the Victoria No.1 Branch to function effectively.

3. Such other ancillary or consequential orders or directions that the Court considers appropriate.

The Application is listed for Directions before the Federal Court of Australia at 305 William Street, Melbourne, Victoria, on 5 June 2009 at 9.30am.
