Victorian Pathology Provider moves patient data processing off shore

The Health Services Union (HSU) has been told that Dorevitch Pathology has moved its patient data processing off shore to Bangalore, India.

Workers at the Dorevitch Heidelberg (Vic) site have been told that all Electronic Data Processing (EDP), including sensitive information relating to patient blood tests, will be processed in India.

This means that all Dorevitch patient pathology results and patient private information will be sent off shore for processing.

The data to be sent over sees includes personal information such as patient test results, patient name, test requests, address, date of birth and Medicare number.
