Despite spending a whopping $55 million on feel good advertising for the work choices legislation, the Federal Government has decided it still requires high priced Spin Doctors to sell the changes leading up to the next election. After playing a significant role in advising the Howard Government on strategy to counter the publics doubts over work choices legislation, consultancy firms Colmar Brunton Social Research and Jackson Wells Morris are set get more Taxpayers money. Colmar Brunton received 1.4 Million for "research into the WR reform communication" and JWM received $400'000 for "Issues management strategy for WR reform" according to a Government website. This seems set to continue with Colmar Brunton receiving an additional $150'000 this year and JWM receiving well over $300'000 in the last 3 months of May, June and July. "This shows the Government's contempt for working people, they use our taxes to pay for advertising for things that the majority of people clearly don't agree with" says HSU National Secretary Craig Thomson. "This clearly propaganda and unfortunately we have to pay for it while our Hospitals, Schools and infrastructure could use that money for improvement"
