Aged Care Reform Update17 August 2012The Commonwealth Government is in the process of reforming the Aged Care sector. The reforms are bundled in the Living Longer Living Better package. The reforms cover issues affecting the whole sector such as fair and proper wages, subsidies to providers, dementia care, home care and consumer directed care. The HSU is a major stakeholder, representing Aged Care members, at the SWAG. SWAG stands for Strtaegic Workforce Advisory Group. The SWAG is made up of Unions, Employer bodies and Government. The Government has tasked the SWAG with developing a scheme to deliver the extra money the Commonwealth has set aside for wages. Download File: News
