WA's Governement wants SERCO to run detention centres and our public hospitals02 November 2010
Colin Barnett, Western Australia's Premier, wants to privatise the Fiona Stanley Hospital and hand it over to the international prisions and detention centre managers SERCO.
Many Australians will know SERCO as the company that runs private prisons and our struggling immigration detention centres. This new hospital needs to provide quality public health services. Privatisation has failed in the past and there is no reason Serco or any other private company will make it work now.
