Australian Health Ministers meet in Melbourne

Yesterday the Australian Health Minister met in Melbourne to continue the national health care reform process.

The meeting focused on a plan to free up elective surgery waiting lists, a complaints process for reporting health professionals and initiative to have background checks made compulsary for health professionals.

Australia's new National Mental Health Policy 2008 was launched. This represents a renewed commitment by all governments to the continual improvement of Australia's mental health system.
