US Presidential candidates "Walk A Day in My Shoes"11 August 2007
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) members are inviting all American Presidential candidates to spend time in members lives, accompanying them on the job and spending time at home with their families. In fact, Walk a Day in My Shoes is a prerequisite to being considered for union member's endorsement. Because if presidential candidates understand the struggles workers face each day, they will be better able to offer the 21st century solutions America needs.
Walk a Day in My Shoes is about the presidential candidates spending time in members' lives. It's about making sure politicians truly know what the real world is like for the rest of us.
The Service Employees International Union is 1.8 million working people and 50,000 retirees united to improve services and our communities throughout North America. SEIU members are having a real impact on the American presidential campaign and American politics. SEIU members are winning better wages, health care, and more secure jobs at home, while uniting their strength with their counterparts around the world to help ensure that workers, not just corporations and CEOs, benefit from today's global economy.
The SEIU is the largest health care union in America.
